Which professional institution or which certificate should I start studying as an HR professional ?
There are different HR certifications and institutions some of them based in the United States others based in the United Kingdom.
This is the first step when you start looking for a professional certificate that will add value to your knowledge and experience.

HRCI (Human Resources Certificates Institute) located in the US offers the following certificates:
• PHR (Professional Human Resources)
• SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources)
PHR and SPHR both designed for US candidates.
• HRBP (Human Resources Business Professional)
• HRMP (Human Resources Management Professional)
HRBP and HRMP both designed for International candidates.
SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) located in the US offers the following certificates:
• SHRM-CP (Certified Professional)
• SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional)
SHRM certificates are the latest HR certificates and it was introduced in 2015, SHRM was the main provider of the study material for HRCI certificates, it is no longer providing such materials and it will concentrate on their own certificates.
CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) located in the United Kingdom offers 3 different level of qualifications:
HRCI and SHRM certificates requires passing a multiple choice exam, in other hand the CIPD certificates requires completing assignments and attending workshop sessions.
I would recommend SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or HRBP/HRMP certificates as a first certifications of choice because they are designed for international candidates and CIPD as the second choice.
CIPD certificates would be the first choice only if the candidate did not have the solid HR experience or HR qualification and knowledge.
